Back to home from the work trip to Lapland, Northern Finland. I really enjoy the bright nights of the polar day. The sun stays above the horizon all night long. I love the clean air and clear waters. ⛰☀️💦 NUTS Ylläs Pallas was a successful event – but of course also hectic for me. I had – once again – an amazing team: 🎥@mikecarson.wmv 📷

And I got a chance to met and discuss with one of the top mountain runners in the world and a great role model @nuriapicasoficial ! 🏃🏻‍♀️ I had only a short moments of free time. Every night I tried to get to the night swim with my 🐶! Every year I want to visit ✨ Varkaankuru ✨ and swim there. I don’t know any other place like that in Finland. It’s so beautiful spot with tiny waterfall bringing fresh water from the top of the fell.
I wish I would get over the overstrain of my body, so that I could enjoy the fells also by long running. But so far I am too stressed that my specialist doctor has told me to take it easy.

Because I have the neuro illness called trigeminal neuralgia which causes to me facial pain. Really terrible kind of facial pain. For me the best way to enjoy the winter days in low temperatures is to do it in intense HR zones.
Then my heart pumps warm blood to the area of my face and keeps the nerves warm too – compared to casual walking for example.
Of course I pay attention to the proper gears too.
But still the body works for me better when being in training mode outside. And I avoid feeling pain when there’s sub zero C degrees. .

What to wear while running in cold weather? ❄️
Do you have some good tips for sub-zero temperatures? .
I am a huge fan of merino wool year around – as you know. 🐏

My new favourite running tights are @icebreakernz tech hybrid tights. The fabric is soft and comfy merino-mix and they feel dry and warm even when I sweat while training. But the best new feature is that they have wind shields in the front, so that thighs stay warm. 🌬Really good detail in the windy coastal conditions in where I mostly train. .
If you are in Helsinki, come and try these novelties to @partioaittayrjonkatu. I can highly recommend them. 💎

And no, the clothes are not gifted to me. I just honestly love these and wanted to let you know what I have found. Winter is coming, you know. 😉

Is it appropriate to say something good about the pandemic?
♡ It has brought it visible how important piece of the puzzle the introverts and those, who enjoy to work by themselves, are for the whole society. Many of them are HSPs too like ∼20% of population is.
♡ Those people who are often in the shadow of extroverts and social people, because those features are culturally admired in the western countries.
♡ Now we can see clearly that we have a need for the both depending on the situation.
♡ I guess the naturally self-acting people who don't need regular social f2f meetings have more resilience for stress in the time of lockdowns, restrictions, remote work and insecurity about the close future.
♡ I'm not meaning they would't suffer at all, but they have better endurance to take this kind of hits and still standing mentally – figuratively.
♡ They just don't get quickly unsatisfied if they haven't a chance to party in the restaurants, have the physical access to big events like concerts in arenas, to trade shows or to group gymnastics classes.
♡ They participate these very selectively also in so called normal times, because these events are designed as default valuably to social extroverts. That's why remote access to these is not an issue.
♡ I am one of those kind of people: a hsp and a social introvert. Personally I am just worried to get longterm sickness. Mentally I have had way more challenging times in my life than the pandemic time itself. I have heard the same from others like me.
♡ More I AM worried about the mental health of many of my more extrovert friends.
♡ Our societies need both kind of people and different kind of features and strengths. It's the beauty of human species. ...

Nowadays I see mainly sponsored content (ADs)* – not posts or stories published on accounts I follow – here in Instagram. (Collaborations are ok.)

It gets me to avoid the App in general. 🚩

I know there is no such a thing called a free service. ⚖️

Yet I would prefer to pay 12€/year to block the sponsored content, because I would like to follow the people / accounts I am honestly intrested. 🛡

Yesterday was a social day. An event day. A work day.

BUT I met also my running team fellow Late from Hölkkämäyrät aka Jogging Badgers. @laurimyllyvirta

To be honest:
After I came back to work life after the sick leave, I have met any of my friends 2 times excluding these short encounters while I am at work.

I met Vappu @vappuelisa in the Easter and Jussi and Junko @noksu.trailrunner & @junkokondo1 with Guillem one free afternoon while Guillem and I were work travelling in Lapland in July. @guillem_casanova

Not to forget that other Lauri has given me car rides to my doctor appointments. @biglemming

Working to stay alive takes all my energy. Halli the 🐺 is my social relationships in plural.

So thank you my family & colleagues for being so nice. Thank you my friends for understanding.
