This is how my Trigeminal Neuralgia journey started.

I got myelin cover damage to the left tn nerve as a result of a rheumatoid (juveniles) arthritis malpractice for my jaw joints.

The dentists & primary doctors denied to send to the examinations to hospital even though I had severe pains and mobility problems with my jaws as a kid.

When I finally got to the examinations & scans to a hospital at age 19 while I started to faint because of so heavy facial pains, they found out that my condyloid processes = “the balls” in the end of lower jaw bones (in the both side joints) were corroded to half size from their normal.

And that actually my lower jaw was only depended on the facial muscles – not on the jaw joints. Lower jaw would have blocked my breathing without my facial & jaw muscles keeping it in place 24/7 for years.

There had been a quite of static muscle tension on my facial muscles during years after years. And my tn nerve was heavily compressed in between the muscles for years.

Well I got the prosthesis’ to my jaws 🙏🏼 BUT the lack of myelin on my tn nerve stayed. The damaged part was found (for example) by simultane QST-test cross examine together with MRI scan, fMRI & MEG scans. This nerve part has been impossible to fix / cure.

And here I am, I have had Trigeminal Neuralgia for over 20 years.

This is my STRONG. This is TN warriors’ strong.
All this done with -at least- 10 years of suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia behind, an endless amount to come yet and WITHOUT my civil rights to the social security.

My strong is not a free choice.
•
It has NOT been an EASY job to survive this way. I have pushed out all my willpower. And I am tired to try even more on my own.
•
I do not get what more the society expect me to do before I am allowed to be a legitimate citizen.
•

Since Feb 2021 I’ve regularly visited the doctor of Medicine, that I nowadays call "my" M.D. His holistic methods have been groundbreaking. My condition w/ TN has taken huge steps.

He's helped me to handle the fear/panic of pain flares/attacks by hypnosis methods. And teached me then methods to do the manipulation for my brains by myself.

The appointments aren’t only about hypnosis, but also about supporting my body to work the optimal way to fix the nerve issues independently. By in the biologically natural way to help every organ to work for the whole body – and mind. (The 🧠(mind) are one of these organs.)

The new diet and fixing my nutrition was one of the main keys to cut off the endless TN pain attack, which had lasted over 1,5 years at that point 24h–72h/every week.

The goal is to get the possibility of a low inflammation away from my digestion and so on revitalise my metabolism to optimal for my nerve system.

How amazing the body is when you know how to feed it right! A rat race of weekly pain attacks stopped in a 3 weeks!

I’m not fundamental with my diet (excl. gluten).

I might eat e.g. some plant-based yogurt incl. added sugar, dessert if I feel liked or few pieces of dark chocolate sometimes. Keeping in mind that it’s a risk to eat these all in a same day or to eat added sugar daily. Honey is better option than casual sugar.

My body has always known my needs better than my consciousness: even as a kid I wasn’t after candies or coca-cola. I preferred to save my own little money for toys OR to weekly lottery 😄! In a cinema I chose popcorn over candies.

This tells about the results in a pain management that are possible to achieve by boosting your own body & mind system.

The treatment still continues, because I want to become better and better body hacker of my TN disease.

My doctor tries to make both useless: my strong daily medication and his appointments (as much as possible).

I’ve been able to cut down my med. dosage to half w/out increasing pains.
It’s still lots of CNS medication but the direction is right!

Is it appropriate to say something good about the pandemic?
♡ It has brought it visible how important piece of the puzzle the introverts and those, who enjoy to work by themselves, are for the whole society. Many of them are HSPs too like ∼20% of population is.
♡ Those people who are often in the shadow of extroverts and social people, because those features are culturally admired in the western countries.
♡ Now we can see clearly that we have a need for the both depending on the situation.
♡ I guess the naturally self-acting people who don't need regular social f2f meetings have more resilience for stress in the time of lockdowns, restrictions, remote work and insecurity about the close future.
♡ I'm not meaning they would't suffer at all, but they have better endurance to take this kind of hits and still standing mentally – figuratively.
♡ They just don't get quickly unsatisfied if they haven't a chance to party in the restaurants, have the physical access to big events like concerts in arenas, to trade shows or to group gymnastics classes.
♡ They participate these very selectively also in so called normal times, because these events are designed as default valuably to social extroverts. That's why remote access to these is not an issue.
♡ I am one of those kind of people: a hsp and a social introvert. Personally I am just worried to get longterm sickness. Mentally I have had way more challenging times in my life than the pandemic time itself. I have heard the same from others like me.
♡ More I AM worried about the mental health of many of my more extrovert friends.
♡ Our societies need both kind of people and different kind of features and strengths. It's the beauty of human species.

Yesterday was a social day. An event day. A work day.

BUT I met also my running team fellow Late from Hölkkämäyrät aka Jogging Badgers. @laurimyllyvirta

To be honest:
After I came back to work life after the sick leave, I have met any of my friends 2 times excluding these short encounters while I am at work.

I met Vappu @vappuelisa in the Easter and Jussi and Junko @noksu.trailrunner & @junkokondo1 with Guillem one free afternoon while Guillem and I were work travelling in Lapland in July. @guillem_casanova

Not to forget that other Lauri has given me car rides to my doctor appointments. @biglemming

Working to stay alive takes all my energy. Halli the 🐺 is my social relationships in plural.

So thank you my family & colleagues for being so nice. Thank you my friends for understanding.

It must not be a female who’s spent time outdoors. Just saying.
As a female runner or hiker I need a skirt and shorts / tights.
The reason is the most natural one.
